The Power of Awareness in Mindful Living

Chantal Doriott, MMT, brings awareness to her day by connecting with and grounding herself in the community and earth.

Awareness is the foundation of mindfulness. It’s the practice of bringing our full attention to the present moment, noticing what’s happening within us and around us without judgment. In a world that pulls us in countless directions, cultivating awareness is like finding an anchor—a way to stay grounded and connected to what truly matters.

Awareness begins with curiosity. It’s the simple act of noticing the way your breath feels as it moves through your body, the emotions that rise and fall within your heart, or the sounds and sensations of the space around you. We create space for clarity and understanding when we pause to observe these moments with openness.

This practice doesn’t have to be complex. It can start with something as small as tuning into your breath while waiting in line or noticing the flavor of your morning tea. As we strengthen our awareness, we become more attuned to the subtle layers of our experiences, opening the door to deeper self-connection and compassion.

Awareness also invites us to see beauty in the ordinary. It reminds us that even the smallest moments—a bird’s song, a shared smile, or the sun's warmth on our skin—can be extraordinary when we are fully present to them.

At Mindful Way Coaching, we believe that awareness is not just a tool but the key to transformation. Through meditation and mindfulness practices, we help you cultivate the skills to navigate life with greater ease, clarity, and intention. It's a journey of self-discovery and growth that can lead to profound changes in your life. Click here to meditate with Chantal.
